It employs over 600 people in the Netherlands [3]. RWE AG was founded in 1898 and entered the Dutch market in 2002 as RWE Energy Nederland (RWE NE) by taking over Obragas and Haarlemmergas. U heeft uw duurzaamheidsbeleid vastgelegd in uw Sustainability Report 2020 en Non-financial Report 2020.
Wij constateren dat uw ambitie is om CO2 neutraal te zijn in 2040. Daarnaast constateren wij dat u ambieert uw scope 1 en 2 emissies in 2030 met 50% verlaagd te hebben en uw scope 3 emissies met 30% vergeleken met 2019.
Hoewel wij constateren dat RWE in Duitsland onder de uitfaseringswet voor kolen (Kohleausstiegsgesetz) energiecentrales zal sluiten die op bruinkool draaien en in 2038 geen operationele bruinkool energiecentrales zal hebben constateren wij tevens dat u in hoger beroep bent gegaan tegen de sluiting van de twee kolencentrales in Nederland. Dit maakt uw ambities ongeloofwaardig.
Daarmee draagt uw bedrijf bij aan gevaarlijke klimaatverandering en loopt u het materiële risico om mensenrechtenschendingen te veroorzaken.
